Hi everyone. My name is Michael and new to this site. I didn't see any posts about MTG and was kinda curious... I mean, it's one of the nerdiest games ever, but I do love it and exert much energy "and money" into it and like to hear of other peoples experiences with it as well. So, what's up? Anyone else an aficionado?

I'm also new, and I wish to further your post, as it's topic is one dear to my heart. I've been playing magic since beta. Let's start by getting your opinion on which set over the years has been the most over powered? This of course does not count core sets, as they reprint from other blocks. My personal favorite was Invasion. How about you?
EDIT: Guess I should have checked that the post was made nearly a year ago. But by all means, reply.

`I've been playing for about 2 years and have a slowly growing collection of cards. Some friends and I play at least twice a week and we have come up with many ways to make our games more interesting. we've been using vanguards, plains and archenemy but we have arranged these in numerous combinations so we often end up playing a mix of archenemy, plains and vanguards all together.
whats also fun is that we've created a gaming paradigm in which it is possible to mix unhinged and unglued cards into a normal game (using two libraries. one for normal playing cards and another for unhinged...)

`I have been playing for over 12 years now and I have a fairly large group of friends that play. Recently we have been planning special constructed matched, our most recent was a 6 player sphere of influence game with all sliver decks restricted to three colors. It was a lot of fun.

`Lucky - I just got started with Magic, and would love to play a more variety of people. Luckily, I got a deckt hat can compete at the local hobby shop so I'll be able to test my mettle there.

`I started playing a few months ago.... One of my teachers at school taught me how during their lunch break, actually. It's quickly become on of my favorite passtimes, and I've even gotten my younger sister involved (Nerd Generation 2.0, officially started!). I don't know all the names of the different decks, since my teachers essentially gave me a mash up of cards to play with. Still, it's quite fun, and definitely passes the time =)
